From your Email, I understand that your system is hanging while loading windows. Even in safe mode also hanging.
The issue on your computer can occur due the corrupt files that are existing on the hard drive. As you have performed the recovey also to reload windows XP. I recomand you reinstall the preinstalled software by performing a complete recovery. This process will erase all the existing data on the hard drive and will reinstalled the preinstalled softwares.
Before performing the Recovery, use Kill disk utility. This will make sure that the data on the hard drive is erased. Please make sure that you have the Recovery discs with you. With out the Recovery disks, you will not be able to reinstall the software after using Kill Disk utility.
